Our Founder & Inspiration

St. Vincent Pallotti was born in Rome on 21 April 1795. He became a Catholic priest and went on to found the Society of the Catholic Apostolate, commonly known as the Pallottines. He lived during a time of great turmoil, marked by the deadly cholera pandemic of the early 19th century and the devastation brought about by the French Revolution and the Napoleonic wars. As s devoted disciple of Jesus, Pallotti could not remain indifferent to the urgent needs of his time.

Deeply moved by the widespread misery and poverty, as well as the moral decline he witnessed, he joined hands with like-minded individuals to initiate a wide range of social and charitable services. He ministered to the poor, the sick, and the dying; reached out to orphans, prisoners, and soldiers; and established night schools and special training programs for farmers

At the same time, he launched initiatives aimed at the moral and religious renewal of society, focusing particularly on the youth. St. Vincent Pallotti passed away in 1850 at the age of fifty-five, and was officially declared a saint in 1963 Even during his lifetime, he was widely recognized for his extraordinary spiritual gifts and unwavering dedication to service.
